Converge Technology Solutions Corp. and FalconStor Software, Inc., a leader in optimizing data protection for IBM Power environments, are pleased to announce they have agreed to deliver a simplified deployment model for Falconstor’s StorSafe virtual tape library, running on Google Cloud Platform. This new model will be offered to all Google Cloud customers as a cloud-based backup solution for either on-premises or cloud instances of IBM Power systems. This collaboration also represents a significant step towards modernizing data backup and archival operations in the IBM Power cloud computing landscape.
Converge’s IP4G subscribers will be the first to benefit from this collaboration, as the initial phase of the service will be supported on a Linux-based VM running on IBM Power. This integration provides IP4G customers with an enhanced cloud-based backup solution, further complementing Converge’s IP4G product suite. Customers will also now be able to benefit from FalconStor’s data protection optimization, including reducing backend storage requirements by up to 95% while increasing performance of both backups and recovery.
