Optimizing Data Protection for IBM Power Workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

We just recently announced the collaboration of FalconStor and Converge Technology Solutions Corp. The collaboration brings together two leaders supporting IBM Power customers in the cloud. Converge’s IP4G (IBM Power for Google Cloud) provides subscribers with IBM Power workloads on GCP. As the IBM certified solution for IBM Power workloads on Power Virtual Server (PowerVS), FalconStor StorSafe VTL now works with Converge’s IP4G subscribers to deliver optimized IBM Power cloud-based data protection on GCP.

Now Converge’s IP4G subscribers can gain the benefits of saving on overall storage costs for their IBM Power environments on GCP. StorSafe VTL works to provide optimized data protection from on-premises to cloud backups to cloud disaster recovery. Converge’s IP4G subscribers on GCP can now utilize the patented deduplication capabilities of StorSafe VTL to save up to 95% of storage costs in protecting their IBM Power workloads on GCP. That can be a substantial savings for IP4G customers by utilizing less storage because of the multiple ways to leverage StorSafe VTL deduplication.

The savings from storage using StorSafe VTL multiplies by leveraging the deduplication for on-premises backup to the cloud, hybrid cloud backups, replication for disaster recovery for hybrid cloud environments, and replication for disaster recovery of the GCP environment. The deduplication permeates collectively throughout these scenarios to provide the greatest savings in overall storage costs.

What’s the bonus? FalconStor StorSafe VTL is easy to deploy and seamlessly works with any existing backup and recovery infrastructure.
