It starts with people
Every deal FalconStor has ever closed through the channel has a person behind it. A solution architect who stayed late to get a configuration right. A sales lead who built trust with a customer over years, not weeks. A support engineer who picked up the phone when something went wrong. Those people are our partners, and they are the heart of our community.
In my role in community development, my focus is on listening to our partners, learning what makes their work harder than it needs to be, and finding ways we can show up better for them. One thing I have learned is that the right tools, built around what partners actually need, are one of the clearest ways to show people that they matter.
That is the spirit behind FalconStor Clarity™. As our CEO Todd Brooks put it at launch, FalconStor believes that “our partners’ success is our success.” Clarity is our way of living that out, and I want to share why I believe it points to a more people-first future for partner success.
Channel sales is a community, not a pipeline
The textbook definition of channel sales is simple: a vendor reaches customers through partners such as resellers, managed service providers, and distributors. For FalconStor, that channel is how enterprises across the IBM ecosystem around the world discover and trust our solutions.
But I do not like describing the channel as a “pipeline.” Pipelines move things from one end to the other. A community is different. It is made up of independent businesses and the people who are a part of them, each with their own customers, cultures, and languages, who choose to put their reputation behind us. That choice is a gift, and it has to be earned every day.
So when I think about partner success, I think about people first:
- The partner who wants to walk into a customer meeting feeling prepared, not scrambling
- The engineer who deserves a fast, clear answer instead of an email chain
- The team in Japan, South Korea, or anywhere else in the world who should be able to work in their own language
- The customer on the other side of the table, who is best served when their partner is confident and supported
When those people thrive, business follows for all of us. That is the order we believe in: people first, then everything else.
We listened
Clarity was formed directly by conversations. We sat down one-on-one with many partners and asked them to walk us through their real process: what slowed them down, what they dreaded, and what they wished they had when a customer asked a hard question.
Partners were hopping between our old partner support portal, a separate sizing tool, email threads, calls, and more just to piece together what they needed. The information was there, but finding it was falling on the very people who should be spending that time with their customers.
We took their feedback seriously, and they became the blueprint. Clarity is FalconStor’s reimagined partner portal, a single workspace shaped around how our partners actually work. And because it was built to take friction away, we made it available at no cost to every FalconStor partner.
Our community has already made it their own. Nearly 100 partners were active on Clarity before we even announced the portal in August, and many of them have shared feedback that is shaping what we build next. That is what I mean when I say Clarity was built with our partners, not just for them.
Giving time back to the people doing the work
The best measure of Clarity is not how many features it has. It is how much time and confidence it gives back to the people using it. Here is what that looks like in a partner’s day.
For the seller chasing a new opportunity, registering a deal takes minutes, and your FalconStor sales contact is automatically notified. Each opportunity comes enriched with account intelligence, so you can pull a company brief or battle card and walk into your next call ready.
For the architect sizing a solution, the redesigned StorSafe sizing calculator remembers every past sizing. You can reuse a previous configuration, explore alternatives, and save it to the right opportunity without restarting from scratch.
For the account manager looking after long-term customers, upcoming renewals and license expirations show up early on the Customers tab and your dashboard, so you can reach out as a trusted advisor rather than at the last minute.
For the team supporting customers after the sale, support cases live in the same workspace. You can open new cases, follow the conversation, and track all open cases, so no one is caught off guard.
Thomas: an advisor in every partner’s corner
FalconStor Thomas™, our AI Tech & Sales Advisor, is the part of Clarity I think of most as a teammate. Partners can ask Thomas about FalconStor products, IBM Power, competitive positioning, technical and support questions, or how to handle a tough objection. They can ask about their own accounts and cases, or have Thomas draft a deal brief, battle card, or outreach email.
Most importantly for our community, partners can ask Thomas in their native language. Our partners work in many languages, and no one should have to translate materials before they can serve their own customers. One of our partners in Japan told us that working entirely in Japanese is a business requirement, not a convenience. Thomas meets people where they are, whether that is Tokyo, Toronto, or Texas.
A space that belongs to our partners
Clarity is the largest AI investment FalconStor has made to date, and we chose to invest it in one group: our partner community. We did not build a tool for ourselves and then open the door to the channel. We built a space that reflects our partners.
That sense of community shows up in a few ways I care about deeply:
- Teams work together, not in silos. Teams within a partner organization share one view of opportunities, sizings, and cases. No one has to be the bottleneck, and no one gets left out of the loop.
- Every partner has a voice. Partners can share feedback and ideas for Clarity right in the platform. Their ideas go straight to the team shaping Clarity’s roadmap.
- Partners are equals, wherever they are. A partner in a smaller market gets the same intelligence, tools, and support as anyone else, in their own language.
That feedback loop is such an important feature to me. A portal is a tool. A portal that grows because its community asked it to is a relationship, and relationships are what great communities are made of.
Building the future together
When I picture the future of partner success, I picture a community where every partner, in every market, feels seen, supported, and equipped to win, and where FalconStor keeps earning their trust by listening and following through. Clarity is not the finish line. It is a promise that we will keep building alongside you, and it will keep changing as you tell us what you need.
If you are a FalconStor partner, here is how to get started:
