In this session Ron Morita, Head of Engineering at FalconStor will discuss what companies are doing to increase the speed of their backups and restores, as well as send copies of backups to remote object storage or cloud object storage housed at a Managed Services Provider (MSP) for offsite protection. StorGuard is used to move data from one disk array to another non-disruptively to the mission-critical servers that are actively using the data at one site, between sites, or across hybrid clouds. The tradeoffs of backup-to-disk appliances versus a software defined approach will be summarized.
