FalconStor Japan and Fujitsu Software Technologies Enter into Business Partnership
Fujitsu Software Technologies to Provide Full-Service Sales and Support of FalconStor’s Backup and DR Solutions in the Japanese Market
MELVILLE, NY, June 23, 2010 - FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the provider of TOTALLY Open™ data protection solutions, today announced that FalconStor Japan has entered into a partnership with Fujitsu Software Technologies (FST). FST will resell FalconStor’s backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions in the Japanese market and provide consulting services, system deployment and post-sales support to customers.
As the software development unit of Fujitsu Group, FST has built upon its foundation of operating system, middleware, storage and IT systems infrastructure to offer a one-stop-shop for data protection and business continuity systems. FalconStor’s suite of data protection solutions complements FST’s low-end backup software and high-end array-based mission-critical offerings with a set midrange solutions that complete FST’s backup-and-DR product lineup.
Under the reseller agreement, FST will offer FalconStor® Continuous Data Protector (CDP), FalconStor® Virtual Tape Library (VTL), FalconStor® File-interface Deduplication System (FDS) and FalconStor® Network Storage Server (NSS) through Fujitsu Group’s nationwide sales network. In addition to consulting and system deployment services, FST will deliver comprehensive post-implementation support services.
“In today’s market for highly efficient and cost-effective data center services, we need to embrace the latest technologies as part of our complete business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure solutions to increase service level agreements and lower operational costs,” said Hiroshi Amano, president of Fujitsu Software Technologies. “FalconStor solutions provide interoperability with server virtualization and cloud-based backup and DR technologies – and FalconStor’s totally open software architecture gives us extreme flexibility.”
“FalconStor’s business partnership with FST will enhance our product offering with consulting and solution-design services, which are required to meet customer’s backup redesign needs,” said Yoshiharu Yamanaka, president and country manager for FalconStor Japan. “In addition, I believe this partnership will accelerate sales of FalconStor’s data protection solutions in Japan. “
