ReiJane Huai
Chairman and CEO
Mr. Huai came to FalconStor with a distinguished career in software development and management. As Executive Vice President and General Manager, Asia, for Computer Associates International, Inc., he was responsible for sales, marketing and the development of strategic joint ventures in the region. Mr. Huai joined CA in 1996 with its acquisition of Cheyenne Software, Inc., where he was President and Chief Executive Officer. He joined Cheyenne in 1985 as Manager of Research and Development, and was appointed Director of Engineering in 1987. While there, he served as chief architect of ARCserve, the industry's first storage management solution for the client/server environment. Mr. Huai received a master's degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985. Mr. Huai's term as a Director of the Company expires in
2010.
James P. McNiel
Chief Strategy Officer
Mr. McNiel comes to FalconStor as an accomplished senior executive, bringing all of his technical and business acumen to bear on the role of chief strategy officer. McNiel's mission is to develop an integrated corporate strategy that drives worldwide marketing initiatives and alliances and enhances FalconStor's international market leadership and brand recognition.
Prior to joining FalconStor, McNiel was co-founder and CEO of Fifth Generation Systems, a social networking startup. Prior to that, he was a general partner at Pequot Ventures (now FirstMark Capital) for nine years, where he managed successful investments in Netegrity, NetGear, OutlookSoft, and other technology companies. In addition, McNiel was a key member of the Cheyenne Software executive team that led the company to market leadership in backup software, culminating in a high-value sale to Computer Associates in 1996. McNiel started his career as a software developer for LucasFilm Ltd. as a software team leader. McNiel studied Business and Advanced Management at The Wharton School and Finance at MIT's Sloan School of Management.
Wai Lam
Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Lam came to FalconStor from Computer Associates International, Inc. As Vice President and Architect at CA, he was responsible for the eTrust Internet security product strategy and design. Mr. Lam joined CA in 1996 with its acquisition of Cheyenne Software, Inc., where he was Director and Architect of the HSM product line. He joined Cheyenne in 1993 with its acquisition of Applied Programming Technologies, Inc., where he was a partner and developer of network storage systems using the newly available optical libraries. Before joining APT, Mr. Lam worked at Hughes Aircraft, where he was a microwave circuit designer for space communication systems, and he was appointed Senior Staff Engineer. Mr. Lam received a Master of Science degree from UCLA in 1984, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stony Brook in 1982.
Wayne Lam
Vice President and a co-founder of FalconStor
Mr. Lam possesses more than 15 years of software development and corporate management experience. He presently serves as Vice Chairman and PR Coordinator for SNIA IPS Forum iSCSI Group, and also co-chair of SNIA IPS Technical Workgroup iSCSI Group. Prior to FalconStor, he was Vice President at Computer Associates International, Inc., holding various roles in product marketing, business and product development. Mr. Lam joined CA in 1996 via its acquisition of Cheyenne Software, Inc., where he had been General Manager of Cheyenne´s NetWare Division, Director of Business Development and head of Cheyenne Communications, a business development unit focused on communications software. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Lam was co-founder and CEO of Applied Programming Technologies. From 1987 to 1989, he was a Vice President of Engineering at Advanced Graphic Applications, where he managed the development of PC-based document management systems and optical storage device drivers. Mr. Lam has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union. His involvement at Cooper Union with a privately funded research project studying the feasibility of building paperless offices using optical storage devices led to the formation of Advanced Graphic Applications.
James Weber
Chief Financial Officer/Vice President/Treasurer
Mr. Weber has over 10 years of financial, accounting and management experience. Prior to becoming CFO in 2004, Mr. Weber served as worldwide Corporate Controller of FalconStor since April 2001. From 1998 through 2001, Mr. Weber served as Corporate Controller for theglobe.com, an Internet community. Before joining theglobe.com, Mr. Weber had been an audit manager with KPMG and had several years of public accounting experience. Mr. Weber is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fordham University.
Bernie Wu
Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Wu was Senior Vice President of sales and marketing for the Internet Outsourcing Division of Trend Micro, a leading Internet security software company from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Wu had worldwide responsibility for defining, launching, and managing OEM, service, and alliance partnerships with ISPs, ASPs, telecommunication carriers, and other software companies for the purpose of offering network-based security services. Prior to that, Mr. Wu has 15 years experience in various executive and managerial positions at companies such as Intel, Seagate, Conner Peripherals, and Computer Associates/Cheyenne in areas including product development, marketing, and OEM/channel sales of RAID, optical, and tape-based storage management software and subsystems. In 1996 he co-authored a patent in the area of SCSI enclosure management services which has been widely adopted in the industry. Mr. Wu has a BS/MS in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from University of California at Los Angeles Anderson School of Management.
Wendy Petty
Vice President of North American Sales
Ms. Petty brings to the company over 15 years of sales, management, and technology expertise in the software/networking industry. Prior to joining FalconStor, Ms. Petty held a variety of senior sales executive positions at Computer Associates International, most recently as Senior Vice President of Channel Sales. From 1990 to 1996, she was an essential member of the sales management team at Cheyenne Software Inc., and served as Director, North American Sales, Manager, Corporate Accounts and Western Regional Sales Manager. During her tenure at Cheyenne, Ms. Petty led the sales team that propelled Cheyenne, and its flagship product - ARCserve - to a position of market leadership, while educating the market to the benefits of, and helping to create the demand for, client/server software solutions.
Seth Horowitz
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Mr. Horowitz brings to FalconStor a wide range of legal experience. Prior to joining FalconStor, Mr. Horowitz held positions with NewView Technologies, Inc., a supply chain software company, and Reliance Group Holdings, Inc., a diversified insurance holding company, and was with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. Following law school, Mr. Horowitz was a law clerk to Judge Milton Pollack. Mr. Horowitz received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his A.B. from Harvard College.
John Lallier
Vice President of Technology
Mr. Lallier was previously with Computer Associates International, Inc. as Chief Architect for the ARCserve storage family of products. Prior to that, he was at Cheyenne Software, Inc. for 10 years in various positions, including Vice President of Engineering for the Desktop Products Division. Mr. Lallier has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from New York Institute of Technology.
Alan Chen
Vice President of Technical Services and IPStor Development
Mr. Chen leads the worldwide Professional Services, Technical Support, Training, and IPStor engineering teams. He brings to FalconStor nearly 20 years of experience in the development of software solutions for both the storage and security industries. Prior to joining FalconStor, he was the assistant vice president responsible for the eTrust antivirus product line at Computer Associates. Mr. Chen earned his Master of Science degree in computer science at the New York Institute of Technology.
Jimmy Wu
Vice President and Chief Technologist
Mr. Wu brings to FalconStor more than 15 years of software design and development experience in the areas of storage, computer security, and communications. Prior to FalconStor, Mr. Wu was responsible for the design and development of the eTrust security product at Computer Associates International, Inc., which he joined in 1996 after its acquisition of Cheyenne Software, Inc. He was part of the Cheyenne Communications team as a senior software developer since 1994. Mr. Wu received his Master of Computer Science degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Prakash Babu
Vice President of Data Protection
Mr. Babu brings to FalconStor more than 15 years of software design and development experience in the areas of backup and secondary storage devices. Prior to FalconStor, Mr. Babu was a divisional vice president at Computer Associates, Inc., managing the development team for BrightStor Enterprise Backup. At Cheyenne Software, Inc., he was part of the ARCserve team, responsible for designing and developing most of the ARCserve's backend options. Mr. Babu received his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Calicut in India.
Guillaume Imberti
Vice President and General Manager, EMEA Operations
Mr. Imberti has more than 12 years of executive and senior management experience in enterprise storage software sales. Prior to joining FalconStor, Imberti served as Managing Director of the Southern European Operations at Veritas Software/Seagate Software (NSMG), where he drove the growth of the organization from 8 to 40 people in 3 years. While at Cheyenne Software, as Vice President of Southern European Sales and Operations, Mr. Imberti was instrumental in expanding revenue in France, the Benelux, Italy, Iberia and Israel. Prior to working at Cheyenne Software, he led the Southern European Sales of Pacific Data Products, a company specializing in Printer Enhancement products.
Dr. Eric Chen
Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific Operations
Mr. Chen was a technical staff member of IBM Networking Systems, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina prior to joining FalconStor. From 1991 — 1994, he worked on projects that enabled the interworking of different communication protocols. Dr. Chen then became an Associate Professor at National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan, teaching graduate courses in Networking, Protocol Engineering and Distributed Systems. During his tenure, he participated and advised on many industry projects as well. Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. and Masters in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University.
Alex Jiang
Vice President of Worldwide Marketing
Mr. Jiang leads the charge to bolster our corporate identity by positioning FalconStor as the innovator and market leader in storage virtualization and data protection/recovery. Previously at FalconStor, Mr. Jiang spearheaded product marketing initiatives to define and promote channel ready solutions. Prior to joining FalconStor, Mr. Jiang worked for Cheyenne Software, Inc., where he achieved total dominance (approx. 90% share) in the server-based backup market in Japan and managed OEM relationships in the Asia Pacific region.
