Partner Spotlight: EXENET
EXENET, an Elite FalconStor Solution Provider based in New York City, is an IT-optimization and assurance company that serves top law firms, hedge funds, and mid-size enterprises. They provide IT-strategy consulting, architecture, design, and integration services. They also deliver business solutions in mobility, collaboration, security, and contingency.
EXENET's clients seek to create a virtualized environment for business applications that are scalable and support high availability. The company recently addressed the need for scalability and high availability in two top corporations: Silverstein Properties, one of the New York metro area's most active and respected real-estate developers; and a prominent wealth-management firm that handles over four billion dollars in assets.
EXENET was able to deliver such virtualized environments by leveraging VMware with the full support of FalconStor technology. Their solutions provide storage capacity on demand and true serverless backup for all applications, utilizing FalconStor VirtualTape Library (VTL) for disk-based data protection.

Hospital Protects Patient Privacy, Gains Better Access
What do you do when you have a looming deadline that guarantees - to authorized healthcare personnel only - access to patient records at all times? Schedper Ziekenhuis Emmen (SZE/Emmen Hospital) had already invested in a fully integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) environment but now needed to quickly enhance the system, faced with a new application and short deadline.
SZE didn't panic. Instead, they called in FalconStor Solution Partner Systems4U to advise them on how to design and implement a new system without physically altering the current infrastructure. The first step was to virtualize SZE's application servers with VMware®, which enabled failover in the event of a server failure and also enabled load balancing at peak times. To address the challenge of availability, an IPStor server was deployed in each server room with its failover option enabled. An option was also activated that enabled the creation of a mirror image of data created by either IPStor server.
The result? SZE not only acquired the mirroring system it wanted, but created a high-availability solution at the same time. And there was no disruption to the existing infrastructure.

FalconStor Certified as VARBusiness 5-Star Vendor
FalconStor has been recognized by CMP's VARBusiness Magazine as one of North America's top information-technology (IT) vendors for the partnership program it offers to its Solution Providers. The certification acknowledges FalconStor's commitment and strength of its programs for IT integrators, resellers, and consultants. This is the second straight year that FalconStor has attained the 5-star certification. With over 250 entries for the VARBusiness certification, only 60 firms made the cut and received the 5-star rating.
"Nowadays, the structure of vendor channel programs is too often reduced to a checklist of must-have elements. The VARBusiness 5-Star Partner Program honor recognizes those select vendors, like FalconStor, who have the programmatic structure to best serve their solution providers in their specific markets segments and technologies. Partner Certification to Use Modular Approach

Research findings1 show that adult learners want to take training courses that are relevant to them and their job functions. Two of the most difficult expectations to fulfill are the "motivational" and the "What's In It For Me (WIFM)" factors.
Motivation is enabled by excitement and interest in the subject trained. When learners understand that the course will be delivered in a succinct and timely manner, they are more apt to retain the information presented and use it in practical manners. The WIFM is increased by the promise of betterment on the job, individual certification, and an increased professional knowledge base. FalconStor develops all of its courses with these principles in mind.
FalconStor is currently re-engineering its IPStor® and VTL training courses to comply with the modular learning approach. Partners will now be able to become trained to different levels of competency. For example: IPStor will now be split into four separate online training modules. Each of these modules will require an online test at the end. With a description of the chapters and modules in each level, partners will be able to determine the appropriate level of training for their colleagues.
The new certification curriculum will be a new requirement of the FalconStor Solution Provider Program. The number of partner colleagues required to complete this level of training certification is based on their tier of partnership: Elite, Premier, or Associate. The details of this program will be announced in conjunction with the launch of the Partner Program.
